Glenda L. Rider

Glenda Louise Rider, 59, of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her home. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 29th at the funeral home.

Glenda was born on October 3, 1955. She was the oldest of three children born to Chester "Bud" Kerns, Jr. and Connie Kerns. Glenda grew up in Edwardsville, Kansas, and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1973. She was a lifelong resident of the area, moving to Bonner Springs, Kansas, shortly after she married her husband, Joseph Rider, on September 29, 1981. Glenda was a member of Haven Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas, and enjoyed quilting and crafting, listening to music, working in her garden and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Connie and Chester "Bud" Kerns, Jr. and one brother, Chester A. Kerns, III. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Joseph Rider of the home; her three children, Shea Stoner, Jennifer Ford and her husband, Joey Ford, and Bradley Rider; her five grandchildren, Kermitt, Jaelynn, Juneau, Viivi and Jamison; her brother, Gail Kerns; stepdaughters JoAnn Hewston and her husband, Michael Hewston, their children Madeline, Claudia and Olivia; Kim Sward and her husband Dan Sward, their children Shelby, Darby and Brady; Erica Albarran and her husband Efrain Albarran, their children Ellie, Lisa and Emerson as well as extended family and friends.
