Gerald Bradbury Obituary

Gerald R. "Jerry" Bradbury, age 75 of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, at the Elm Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service also at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 15774 Linwood Rd., Bonner Springs, KS 66012. Jerry was born on Sept. 29, 1936 in Kansas City, KS., the son of William F. Bradbury and Emma "Marguerite" (Webb) Bradbury. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS., in 1954 and then joined the Army in the fall of 1954, as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C., from 1954 to 1957. On Jan. 14, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart Viola Mae Bond. During his lifetime he worked various occupations as a Salesman, Master Locksmith, Welder and was presently employed with Assisted Transportation. Jerry considered himself a "Jack of all Trades." His favorite pastimes included cooking, singing, reading, traveling and his faith. After a marriage of 57 years he is survived by his wife Viola Bradbury of the home, daughter Debra Adams, son Gerald "Bob" Bradbury, Jr., and daughter Cheryl Tipton, nine grandchildren Michelle, Jennifer, Jessica, Jeremy, Aaron, Holly, Mandi, TJ & Josh, six great-grandchildren Colton, Makenzie, John, Jakob, Jaxon & Mason. He also leaves behind his beloved furry friend Ted. E. Bear. Arrangements Alden-Harrington Funeral Home 913-422-4074

Hey Grandpa,

I was just sitting at work thinking about you so I decided to google you and I ran across your obituary. I still miss you bunches, we all do!! I love you and I can't wait until I get to see you again in the Lord's house. I love you!!

Viola and family, We are saddened to hear of the passing of Jerry. We enjoyed knowing him at Rehm's Park Baptist Church where he was a dedicated worker for the Lord. Our sympathies to you and your entire family. God Bless All of you.

Jody and Family: We want to let you know that we to are sadden by your sudden loss. He will surely be missed by many. He was a wonderful husband,father,grandfather and a great grandfather. We know where he is and he is no longer in pain or suffering the burdens here on earth.He now is setting at the feet of Jesus rejoiceing in reaching his eternal home that Jesus has gone to prepare for him. Now we can sing What a Day that will be when our Savior we shall see" Jerry has already seen his Savior and walking the streets of glory.
