Gary Olberding Obituary
Gary was born February 9, 1954, in Seneca, Kansas, the son of Emmett and Alice Bennett Olberding. He graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 1972. Gary married Sandy Hermesch in Seneca, Kansas on May 1, 1976. Gary and Sandy owned Pit Pass Liquor Store in Topeka for the last ten years. He was an avid auto sports fan and loved cars in general. Gary loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Lindsay Olberding of Basehor, and Kyle Olberding (Ashley) of Leawood; grandchildren, Peyton, Paxton, Piper, and Bennett; and brother, Rick Olberding (Deb) of Seneca. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Joseph.
Parish rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Thursday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, with visitation to follow until 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 6001 Bob Billings Parkway, Lawrence KS 66049. Burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund in Lawrence, Kansas, or St. Bede's Catholic Church Building Fund in Kelly, Kansas, sent in care of the funeral home.
