Gary Moulton Obituary

Memorial service for Gary Lee Moulton, 78, Lawrence will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at First Christian Church in Lawrence. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Neodesha Cemetery in Neodesha, KS. He passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Gary was born July 16, 1938 in Neodesha, KS the son of Ralph B. and Edna A. (Toler) Moulton. He attended and graduated from Neodesha High School where he was Valedictorian for the Class of 1956. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Education in 1961 and Master's in Education in 1968 from the University of Kansas. Gary was a member of the First Christian Church, the J.O.Y. Group, served on the Board of Trustees, taught Sunday school classes, was a Men's Fellowship Usher, Communion Server and Church Greeter. He was a former member of the Board of Directors from 2003 – 2010 of Hills West Homes Association and was President from 2005 – 2006. He was a teacher of the Topeka School District 501, a small business owner, real estate agent, and substitute teacher for the Lawrence School District until retirement in 2003. Survivors include his significant other, Janice Tucker and her grandsons, James, Austin, and Gannon Tucker. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. one half hour prior to the service on Friday, October 21st at the church. Memorials may be made in his name to the First Christian Church and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
