Im so sorry to hear of Mr Days passing. He always had a funny story to tell and was kind to people and animals. I wish his family peace and fond memories. Thinking of you Mrs Day and Amanda

Frank always made me laugh. When I had a show on KLWN Radio, he would call to tell me "what was what" and share a joke or two or three... I would hear Edna in the background telling him to get off the phone because I was working. He kept track of me when I went to work for Lawrence Public Schools, where my office was just a hop, skip, and jump from the Days' home. He brought me homemade bread, introduced me to his then-infant granddaughter, Olivia, and continued to call now and then to share his opinons about school news and to tell me a joke or two or three... During one sad conversation after the death of their daughter, Susan, I came to realize that I had lived for a time across the street from Susan's family. When my son was little, her three sweet daughters would knock on the door asking him to play outside. It's a small world because of the kindnesses of good people, good neighbors, and good friends, like Frank Day. My thoughts are with Edna adjusting to how quiet it must be without him by her side. In sympathy, Julie Boyle

Many good memories of working with both Frank and Edna in the 1960s at LMH. Frank had such an irreverent sense of humor that it made the most difficult challenges "do-able".
Edna was the perfect partner to bring him down to earth.
He will be sorely missed by many who knew him through the years.

Frank would walk into the bank and we never knew what we were about to hear!!!! So surprise to anyone who knew Frank! He had NO filter no matter who was near. But I was crazy about this man!!! He made me smile, I loved his stories (no matter how many times I heard them), and he made the BEST peanut clusters!!!! Well, he took credit for making them, anyway :) I hadn't heard from him or seen him in awhile and I will always miss that ornery old guy!!! His heart was a lot bigger than he would admit!!!!!!!!! RIP, Frank!!!

Frank was the first person with whom I read newspapers on the air at Audio Reader. He guided me graciously and we became friends. His sense of humor was awesome.
