Francesca Geraldine "Dutch" Scott

Francesca Geraldine "Dutch" Scott died Jan. 31, 2015, at Pioneer Ridge assisted living facility in Lawrence, KS where she had lived for the past five years.

Throughout her life, Dutch, was a faithful student of the bible. She was a woman of integrity who honored truth in her relationships, business and personal decisions. She spoke words of encouragement and believed that one could achieve his or her goal with enough hard work.

Dutch loved to laugh, believed in laughing at yourself, and will be remembered by her wit and sense of humor, love of family and friends, and her talent of cooking family recipes.

She was born July 1, 1918, in Goodland, KS, the daughter of Clyde and Eva Grey Brinker. She enjoyed 53 years of marriage to Emory F. Scott who preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by a sister, Phyllis Martin,Goodland, KS.; a son, Roger (Mary Ann)Scott of Lawrence, KS.; daughter, Mary(Dale) Eggleston of Ft. Collins, CO, and as well five grandchildren- Sarajane Scott Koch (Mark), Sherry Scott, Allison Headrick (Kevin), Jeff Eggleston, Stacey Rinnert (John)and ten great grandchildren- Holden Zimmerman and Hayden Koch; Maia and Alayna Tilly; Brandon, Trent, Isaac and Sarah Headrick; and Gabriel and Megan Rinnert.

In 1945, Dutch and Emory founded the family business, Scott Temperature Equipment Co., now in its 70th year and which continues to serve Lawrence and surrounding communities under the leadership of her son, Roger, and granddaughter, Sarajane.

A private family graveside service will be held on March 16, 2015. Donations can be made to the Lawrence Humane Society or a Christian charity of your choice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
