Florence Dodder Obituary
Florence Irene Dodder, age 95, of Baldwin City, died May 10, 2013, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Kansas. She was born on August 26, 1917 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Fred and Mary "Maidie" Barnes Heim.
Florence graduated from Liberty Memorial High School and from Lawrence Business College, both of Lawrence, KS.
She was united in marriage to George Dodder on February 12, 1942 at her childhood home in Worden. He precedes her in death.
She was employed as a secretary at 832nd Supply Airbase, in Pauline, Ks; Lawrence Memorial Hospital and the ASCS office both in Lawrence, KS, and at Baker University in Baldwin City, KS.
Florence was a dedicated member of the Worden United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a very active member of bible classes at the church and a Sunday school teacher.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Flory and husband Mike of Lawrence, KS, Marleen Harris and husband Rob of Lawrence, KS; five grandchildren, Trent Flory, Tara Pearson, Kalie Harris, Kelli Haeffner, and Courtney Harris; and six great grandchildren, Weston Flory, Tucker Flory, Collin Flory, Susannah Flory, Nellie Pearson, Harrison Haeffner.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant son, Gary; three brothers, Kenneth Heim, Raymond Heim, Donald Heim; and one son-in-law, Eldon Flory.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Worden United Methodist Church, Worden, KS.
Funeral Services will be held at Worden United Methodist on Wednesday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. Internment will follow in the Overbrook Cemetery, in Overbrook, KS.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Worden United Methodist Church, c/o Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 14, Baldwin City, Kansas 66006. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.

I was saddened to hear about the loss of Florence. My family and I grew up next door to her. I remember my sister's and I walking to the Dodder's place to water cows and Florence and George coming out to say hello. Florence always had friendly words and a smile for us. Flo was at every basketball, softball, track, volleyball, play, awards assembly and the list goes on, that involved her family. My girls grew up with Flo being just as much a part of their lives as the other parents supporting all those kids. She was a lovely lady who loved her family, liked to laugh and made others happy.
