Eugene Snow Obituary
Eugene was born on January 22, 1923 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Allen Ray and Effie (Haughn) Snow. He was a lifetime resident of Lawrence.
He served his country in the United States Navy.
He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years.
He was a Mechanic for Ford Tractor for 38 years.
He married Doris Jean Iles on October 26, 1947 in Lawrence. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2004.
Survivors include his two daughters, Karen (Art) Swalwell, Overland Park, KS, Donis (Greg) Sawyer, Lawrence; three grandchildren, Megan Hewitt, Alexis Cortes, Doug Swalwell; two step grandchildren, Travis Sawyer, Ashley Sawyer; two great grandchildren, Parker Hewitt, Connor Hewitt; and five step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pee's and his nursing staff for their years of wonderful care of Eugene.
Memorial contributions may be made in Eugene's name to the Lawrence Humane Society or Midland Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Karen Snow was a childhood playmate and friend of my older brother Steve and me. My mother, Edith Cottom Livingston (later Pendleton) and Doris were best friends, and I always enjoyed being around Doris, who was lots of fun. When my Pendleton family moved to East Drive, we lived close to the Rusty's IGA, where Doris worked. She always seemed to have a smile on her face and made me feel welcomed. I didn't get to know Gene well, but it was interesting to read his obituary. My deepest condolences go out to Karen and all the family at this difficult time. May the Lord Jesus give you His peace and comfort.
