Eugene Hand Obituary

Eugene "Dale" Hand of Largo, Florida was born on February 19, 1922 in South English, Iowa to the late Juanita and Irvin Hand. He passed away at 96 on April 15, 2018 in Pinellas Park, Florida. Dale grew up in Tonganoxie, but lived in Lawrence from 1952 until moving to Florida in August 2014. He retired from Kansas Power and Light after 31 years. He is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Lois Hand of Largo, Florida. He is preceded in death by brother Hubert and sister Marlis. He is also survived by his son Gary Hand and his daughter Jeanne (Rick) Whitefield. He is also survived by his brother Stanley Hand , 2 grandaughters and 3 great grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking and travel. A special thanks to the wonderful nurses and doctors at Morton Plant Hospital, as well as the staff at the Hospice facilty where he peacefully passed away with family at his side. A private interment was held on June 29 at the Veterans Administraiton Cemetery, Bay Pines.
