Elnora Brown Obituary
Brown, Elnora "Brownie", age 97, retired Registered Nurse for Dr. Henry Loewen for 30+ years; then Dr. John Weninger for 10 years, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at Lawrence, Kansas. Elnora was born August 24, 1918, in Lebo, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur Lee and Estella Blanche (Cassady) Brown. She earned her nursing degree from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Independence, Kansas. While living in Wichita, Kansas, she was a member of Central Christian Church, 50+ years with Royal Neighbors, and was an honorary member of the Sedgwick Co. Medical Assistants Society. Brownie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Oren L. Brown; and a sister, Maxine (Brown) Mayse. She is survived by a cousin, Joan Nelson, Seattle, WA; nephew, Stephen Brown, Austin, TX, Stanley Brown, Ft. Worth, TX, Max Mayse, Lawrence; three grand nieces; three grand nephews; three great-grand nephews; and a great-grand niece. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Hillside Funeral Home, 935 N. Hillside; graveside service 2 p.m. Friday, at Wichita Park Cemetery (25th Street North & Hillside). Memorials have been with Central Christian Church, 2900 N. Rock Road, Wichita, KS 67226 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

I remember Brownie. She WA Dr. Lowden's Nurse, and their office was on N. Market in a beautiful, large home. She was friendly and always had a smile. I remember she wore the crisp white uniform and her nurses cap.

Brownie lived next door to us (my parents, brother and I) when we both lived on Tyler Road. She and Betty were perfect neighbors! Miss you!

I remember Brownie as my Grandma & Grandpa Batz's favorite nurse!! You will be missed !!

Seventy years ago this December I was born.Dr.Loewen was my Dr. and Brownie was his nurse. They were my Dr and nurse until I was almost 11 when we moved to Calif. I never forgot either one of them.
