Edward Cook Obituary

WESTERLY - Edward Brian Cook, 60, of Spruce Street, Westerly, passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Born in New London, CT he was the beloved son of Alma Hall and stepson of Charles Hall, of Pawcatuck, and the late Edward B. Cook.

A graduate of Stonington High School, Brian worked in construction for several local companies over the years. He was a Little League coach for several years, enjoyed cooking and was always the chef at the family barbeques. He wrote poetry and was a movie buff of many genres.

In addition to his mom and stepdad, Brian leaves four children, D.N.P. Katherine A. Sandlin (Eric) of Burleson, TX, Colby Becker (Jess) of Moravia, NY, Justin K. Cook of Cumberland, MD, and Jonathan E. Cook of Westerly; and stepson Anthony G. Dumsar, Sr. of Westerly. He also leaves behind his beloved companion and caregiver, Debra DeSimone of Westerly; three siblings, Michael A Cook of Pawcatuck, Cathy Lynn Whitehead (Roger) of Ocala, FL, and Tracy A. Boisclair (Leo) of Westerly; fourteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his nephew Stephen Boisclair.

Brian lost a long-time battle with COPD and Emphysema. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Lung Association in his memory.

Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Saturday, February 1st from 10am - 12 noon, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 12:00 noon. Burial is private. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com
