Edna Day Obituary

Edna Day left this world a much better place than when she came into it. She was a quiet womanwho always knew who she wanted to be. She grew up working on the farm and knew from an early age she did not want to be a "farmer's wife". She graduated high school and then put herself through nursing school graduating from St Johns in Joplin, Mo. She often had long nightly drives from Joplin back to Carthage but perservered and once she got her RN she joined the Navy "To see the world." Her first 2 years took her and her best friend Mary to New York on a medical ship where they ended up hanging out with such famous people as Jack Dempsy the heavyweight boxer. It wasn't too hard for these two beautiful women to have men falling at their feet, but it wasn't all fun as they were officers on a medical ship with over 750 crew members they had to keep well. Edna then went to Camp Pendleton where she met the love of her life Frank Day and they were married for 65 years and had 2 daughters Susan Meyers and Amanda Krauss. Edna will be met at the pearly gates my her husband and eldest daughter and will sorely missed by those she has left behind.
