Wray Brittain Obituary

HARKERS ISLAND — Mrs. Wray Chappell Brittain, 72, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Brittain was born Jan. 24, 1943, in Surry County to Roy and Connie Sparks Chappell. Mrs. Brittain was a member of Harkers Island United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Appalachian State University. Mrs. Brittain was a member of the Eastern Star and was a licensed real estate broker and was retired from Wells Fargo Bank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Brittain. Survivors include her brother, Tommy William Chappell and wife Mary of Elkin; nieces, Angie Spicer and husband Travis of Hamptonville and Wendee Chappell of Elkin; great-niece, Madison Spicer of Hamptonville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. J.V. Lowe and the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
