Dorothy Westerhouse Obituary

Dorothy and her late husband "Westy" were good friends of my late parents, Ken and Trudy Travis, and even shared a vacation trip to our family cabin in the Great Smokies. Thank you for your friendship, Dorothy was a real friend and supporter to my Mom when she was alone after my dad's passing.

Reading about your mother’s death took me back in time. My mother died 22 years ago from ovarian cancer at age 76. Her name was Katherine Zinn. Both our moms were a part of the Deborah Circle at the church. We all attended the Eudora Methodist Church before we moved to Lawrence. Fern Long held a special memorial for mother at a Deborah Circle meeting at the church and invited me to attend. Mother lived most of her life in Eudora. Dorothy was one of her friends attending. I talked with your mother later and remember how kind, and compassionate she was to me. Peggy, I haven’t seen you in years, but I remember how much you looked like your mom. She was a pretty woman.
There is rejoicing in heaven as your mother is welcomed home by our Lord and all her family and friends who passed before her. Your father and mother are together again, well and without pain. Keep the good memories close to your heart.
