Dorothy Newman Obituary
Dorothy was born on November 8, 1929, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Bill and Irene Chisholm. She attended schools in Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and a loyal and devoted Sooner fan. While working for Shell Oil Company in Tulsa, she met Jack V. Newman, and they were married on January 13, 1951. The family moved from Metairie, LA to Kansas City in 1975.
Dorothy was employed for the next 21 years within the insurance industry in Kansas City with Ozark National, Mutual Benefit Life and Livestock Marketing Association.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and son, Mark Newman.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Norton, Kansas City, MO and Kim Kastl (Howard) Lawrence, KS, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to VNA and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
