Doris Mumford Obituary

Funeral services for Doris M. Mumford, 81, Lawrence, KS will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at First Christian Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. She died on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born on December 26, 1930 in Cass County, TX, the daughter of Rock I. and Mae Crossland Golden. She moved to Lawrence with her husband in July 1952.
Mrs. Mumford was a long time food service cashier at USD 497. She retired in 1986.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrence.
She was married to Edwin Mumford on February 14, 1952 in St. Joseph, MO. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2009.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa and husband, Chuck Hoag, a son, John D. and wife, Leslie Green Mumford, of West Point, NY, seven grandchildren, Jenna Mumford, Meghan Mumford, Lauren Mumford, Taylor Hoag, Chase (wife, Caroline) Hoag, Austin Hoag, and Courtney Hoag.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the First Christian Church or to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aril 23, 2012 at the mortuary.
