Donald Moss Obituary

Donald J. Moss, 86, of Lawrence, died unexpectedly at LMH Health September 2, 2022.

Don was born in 1936 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Joseph and Gladys Moss.

After graduating from North High School in Des Moines, he earned an undergraduate degree from Drake University.

In 1959, Don married Madelyn Minnich, and during that year he was drafted into the United States Army where he served for two years.

He continued his education by graduating with a master's degree in psychology from Sacramento State University and then a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Kansas in the early 1970s.

Don's entire career was in the field of clinical psychology, with much of that time spent in private practice in Lawrence until he retired in 2000.

Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madelyn Moss, brother Duane Moss of Weslaco, TX, son Sheldon Moss, daughter-in-law Mina Kabeya, and grandson Louie Moss, all of Lawrence.

A private graveside service will be held at a rural cemetery in Carroll County, IA.

Please accept my deepest sympathies with the passing of Dr Moss. I had the chance to work on the same office floor as Dr Moss in the early nineties. I appreciated the moments of advice he´d provide but I probably most enjoyed his sense of humor! Again, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you all in my prayers.
