I knew Don when he worked with the Kansas Highway Patrol and I was the district attorney in Lawrence, KS. I always respected the way Don handled his cases. He was objective and honest. He was a significant witness/investigator in a high profile armed robbery case at a local restaurant. We had a successful prosecution through his efforts. His colleague on the KHP, Jerry Smith, always said Don was the tall handsome one. He was that and more: smart, dedicated, funny and a wonderful human being.
