Donald Isabell Obituary
Donald "Donnie" C. Isabell, age 53, of Tonganoxie, KS passed away on Thursday January 2, 2014. Funeral services will be 1pm Monday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bonner Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00pm Sunday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in honor of his family.
Donnie was born on August 20, 1960 in Kansas City, Kansas and grew up in the Bonner Springs area graduation from Bonner Springs High School in 1978. Donnie worked for over 30 years at Scott Rice Office Works in Lenexa, Kansas. "My snuggle buddy – I'll miss you dearly. We were two peas in a pod; no one had more fun than us. We went everywhere and did everything; our life together was a beautiful adventure. Know that you've touched many lives with your caring and loving nature. You will be missed by many and never forgotten. Donnie was loved by so many and made me smile every day." Donnie knew no stranger. He loved his dogs "Bacon & Eggs" and had fell in love with his new beloved puppies immediately. Donnie was an avid Chiefs and Jayhawk fan. He was very loyal to his friend and family and always was there to help. He and his wife Penny, held an annual Golf Tournament to help those in need. Donnie was preceded in death by his father Bud Isabell, nephew Tanner Cushman and father-in-law Clifford Plake. Survivors include his wife of 23 years Penny Isabell of the home, his mother Lola Isabell of Bonner Springs, KS., four siblings Susie (Chuck) Passler of Platte City, MO., Linda (Keith) Cushman of Bonner Springs, KS., Charlie (Darlene) Isabell of Linn Valley, KS., and Pat (Gilbert) Fish of Bonner Springs, KS., Mother-in-law Elinor Plake of Kansas City, KS., 3 brother-in-laws Mike (Marilyn) Plake, Leo (Debbie) Plake and Tim Plake as well as a host of nieces, nephews, beloved friends and family.

My heart goes out to Donnie's family. He was my brothers best buddy when we were growing up. We had lots of fun playing in the tree house and he always made us laugh. His smile and friendship will be missed. Bless the Isabell family.

To all of Donnie's family. I am so sorry for your loss. Donnie was the one with a big heart. I loved to hear (winner,winner chicken dinner). I will always rember Donnie having fun with his family and friends. Penny I know there are no words I can say, just know we are thinking of you. Donnie was always so cheerful and funny! I had the opportunity to know him through work. He was great to be around and I always enjoyed seeing him. He always had a great story to tell and you could tell how much he treasured his wife by the stories he shared. He will be missed.

The love and care Donnie shared with the people he worked with and the clients we dealt with everyday, was always above the norm. Donnie was very inquisitive and you knew from his discussions with you that he cared very deeply for his family. Very very hard to know he has left us, but calming to know he is in God's loving hands. He is truly an angel here with us. Love to you and your family dear Penny.
