What a treat it was to meet him at a Red Road Gathering and then be given a private viewing of his personal art collection in his home! I will always treasure that. Our meeting was near the time of Rosh Hashanah, so I found a card (in SDakota, not easy to do) and sent it to him - I'll never forget how touched he was to receive that card, because his faith was very important to him.

Dennis used to spend some time in Omaha during the High Holy Days when I lived in Lincoln. There weren't a lot of Orthodox Jews in our vicinity of the world. we and my then wife became close friends. I hadn't seen him since I made Aliya to Israel in 1996. He was a unique spirit. Looked for him on the internet and was sad that he passed away suddenly in 2015. You should be remembered for a blessing my Dear Friend.

A truly unique individual that lived life his own way. We spent many hours together in the gym and he always impressed me with how fit and strong he was for his age.
I was sad to hear of his passing but his memory will live on in those that knew him.
RIP Dennis.

I only recently saw his death listed in one of the USD alumni newsletters. Dr. Klein was a great man and great professor. He truly lived his passions, which you could tell every time that you saw him. I will always be thankful that I got to know and work with him, even though it was only for a short time many years ago now. Les Suga, Indianapolis

We grew up with Dennis on College Ave. in the Bronx. Even then, he had a 'college' in his name! I was best friends with his sister, Irene. Played "slug," (ball game) below his window! Never knew he was such a genius!! Very sad to hear of his passing.

We are very sad to hear about Dennis's unexpected death. He indeed led a full life -- teaching, publishing, traveling the world, and collecting his beloved art, which I think is to go to the U. of Kansas. Dennis will live on in the public's enjoyment of this beautiful collection. Cindy and Dave Struckman-Johnson, USD cowonderful enjoyingv deathsu's

Dennis was a true friend who taught me better than anyone that living life richly has nothing to do with money or material items. His legacy has extended so much further than he ever could have known.

good man-will miss you at the gym-you ran too fast for me on the track- you brought out my Jewish heritage-and we would speak Jewish to each other-of course I only knew about 15 words

Dennis will truly be missed! I have a lot of great memories with Dennis at the University of South Dakotalifting weights together and looking at art. Dennis taught me a lot about life and art. I remember when my friend and I went and visited Dennis when he worked at Valley Fair in Minneapolis for a summer. A great trip I will never forget. Dennis will never be forgotten!

March 22, 2015

We were childhood friends who kept in touch over the years. Dennis was a very unique individual. He was well educated and I remember asking for his help as a kid in school if I had a problem I couldn't solve. May his soul rest in peace.
