Dennis Kennedy Obituary

Funeral services for Dennis Kennedy, 61, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. He passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home with his friend and care giver, Roger present alongside him.

Dennis was born April 4, 1957 in Lawrence, KS, the son of James Connell and Ardyth Nadine Kennedy.

He was a carpenter for the athletic department for the University of Kansas for 27 years and on disability for the last two years.

Dennis was divorced.

Survivors include his daughters, Cameo Kennedy (Kyle Higgins), Overland Park, KS; Raegan Morton (Tanner), Overland Park, KS; siblings, Vickie Miller (Allan), Cairns, Australia; Larry Kennedy (Jennifer), Lawrence, KS; Twin Diana Swisher (David), Lecompton, KS; close friend and care giver, Roger Bartels, Topeka, KS; three grandchildren; Kaylee Ogden, Brecken Morton, Brinkley Morton all of Overland Park, KS, numerous nieces and nephews and a special thanks to Dennis's favorite niece, Michelle Bellesine, Wichita, KS.

The family will greet friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22nd at the mortuary.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Visiting Nurses.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to The University of Kansas Athletic Department benefiting the University's Baseball Program and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
