Denise Fish Obituary
She was born August 22, 1960 to Charles and Earladean Gloshen in Kansas City, KS, where the family lived. She attended public schools in Kansas City and Wellsville, KS, where she graduated in 1978. She was a beautician for many years but also acquired education and training to provide specialized assistance for children with reading challenges at Prairie Park Elementary. She also played a pivotal role in the establishment of collective bargaining for classified employees of Lawrence Public Schools.
Denise married Gerald Criss in 1978, two sons were born to the union and the couple divorced in 1990. She married Larry Fish in 1991 and another son was born. She leaves behind her husband, of the home, and sons, Brandon, Kyle and Matthew, daughters-in-law, significant others, grandchildren, extended family and many, many friends.

I met Denise in kindergarten at Chelsea Elementary. We became fast friends and shared school and Bluebirds together as young girls. When her family moved our friendship continued into adulthood. She was a wonderful friend and was maid of honor at my wedding. I have many fond memories spending my summers with The Gloshen Family. Earladean made the best chocolate chip cookies and fried chicken! As life goes I lost contact with Denise, however several years ago we reconnected and I have been able to follow her and her wonderful life. My heart goes to all of the family and to her loving husband Larry. His love and compassion during her illness was a truly amazing testament to Unconditional love. Life long friendships never end. I am so happy I had such a beautiful friend and memories I can cherish forever.
