Deborah Payne Obituary

Deborah Ann Payne, 54, passed away on July 20th, 2017 at her home in Lawrence, KS with her family by her bedside. She was born September 27th, 1962 in Butler, Missouri to Larry Stover and Natividad Fernandez. Debbie grew up in Grandview, MO where she graduated from Grandview High in 1980. After high school she earned her Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. While studying, she met her husband, Kevin Payne of Bonner Springs, KS, and they married in Grandview in 1984. They were happily married and living in Lawrence for 32 years. She worked as a real estate agent and eventually began her own business remodeling, leasing, and selling homes in the area for 20+ years. She also created a balloon event decorating company, Balloons N' More, and decorated graduations, proms, and holiday events in the area for 15+ years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and friends and participating in Tae Kwon Do where she received her 1st degree black belt. Debbie is survived by her mother Natividad Doyle, husband Kevin, and her five children: Josh (married to Brooke), Greg, Jordan, Cody, and Connor. A memorial service will be held at Corpus Christi Church (6001 Bob Billings Pkwy, Lawrence, KS) on Tuesday July 25th at 10am. The family will be greeting friends and relatives after the service. On the evening of Tuesday, the 25th, the family will host a casual gathering open to all friends and family at Louise's Bar Downtown (upstairs at 1009 Massachusetts St, Lawrence) from 7-9pm.

Kevin, Josh, Brooke, Greg, Jordan, Cody and Connor and extended family, Our hearts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. Debbie was a great neighbor. I always enjoyed talking with her about nature, flowers, birds and the like. I know she had great strength and courage these past few years. She will be greatly missed.
