David "Dave" E. Shaad

David "Dave" E. Shaad, 90, of Lake Forest, Bonner Springs, KS, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lake Forest Clubhouse from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.

Dave was born Sept. 28, 1922 in Lawrence, KS. He was the youngest son of four children. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Engineering in 1944. He worked in the Kansas City area most of his life. He moved to Lake Forest in 1946 and enjoyed raising his family and the company of many friends there for 67 years. He enjoyed travel, including many cruises with his wife and trips with the family and friends on their houseboat and RV.

Dave was preceded in death by his beloved wife D.J. Shaad who passed away in 1999 and his daughter-in-law Teresa, who passed away in 2001. He is survived by his sons and families, Carl, of Los Angeles, CA, Chris (Marsha) of Lake Forest, David (Donna) of Nashport, OH and Steven of Wichita, KS, grandchildren Aaron (Michelle), Quanna, Kenji, Melissa (Brad), Jenny (Paul), Scott, Jordan (Kelly), Jason, Jon, Jackson and Jonson, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
