David Harley Obituary

David B. Harley

David B. Harley, 65, of Lawrence, died peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He attended Topeka High school and Washburn University. He was a retired court reporter for District Court of Wyandotte County.

David had a passion for collecting autographs from notable classic film stars. He had an extraordinary personal fund of facts and memorabilia related to baseball, football and music, and David enjoyed sharing his interests and knowledge with others. He was an avid student of military history and he had a prodigious knowledge of the facts, dates and details of historical events.

David was preceded in death by his father Lt. Col. James O. Harley (ret.) and his brother Philip A. Harley. He is survived by his mother, Betty W. Harley who lives at Brewster Place in Topeka and his older brother, Dr. J. Preston Harley in Chicago.

The family sincerely appreciates the compassion and kindness of his caregivers, friends and neighbors.

David's wish was to be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Junction City, Kansas.
