A Memorial Service will be held honoring and remembering the life of David Merle Findley on Saturday, May 19th at 11 AM at Burgundy Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma. David passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 after a long illness. He was 85.

David was born on December 15, 1932 to Ruth C. (Gilmore) Findley and William Ray Findley in Cameron, Missouri.

He attended Lawrence High School in Kansas and graduated on May 25, 1952. After graduation he worked for a few months until he made the decision to serve our country in the United States Air Force on March 4, 1952. David served as an Airman in the 4th Class bomber Squad. He was honorably discharge on January 22, 1956. He continued serving in the Air Force Reserves until 1960.

Right after he was discharged from the service he married the love of his life, Sharon Mae Findley on June 30, 1957 in Mound Valley, Kansas.

On June 6, 1960, David graduated from the University of Kansas College of Business with an accounting major. Through his career he worked at Planters Peanuts, HK Porter, Neosho Memorial Hospital and finishing his career at Home of Hope.

David and Sharon started their life together and began a journey. They lived in Virginia, Missouri, Kansas and finally settle at Grand Lake in Oklahoma.

He enjoyed the lake and spent most of his time fishing. David and Sharon loved to travel together. They enjoyed visiting national parks and even took several trips to Europe. In their later years they drove around the country going through Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and New Mexico.

David was easy going and had a care free personality. He loved to laugh and socialize with others.
