Dr Wilcox was a remarkable mentor and a friend to me while I was doing my Masters program in Wayne State College. I would remember her for the rest of my life though I live miles away. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort.

Dr. Wilcox was one of the greatest women I have ever met. I have known her for almost my whole life and she has always been someone I looked up to. She was my greatest mentor throughout college and my career in education. I honestly wouldnt be where I am, as well as the person I am today without her. Rest easy Dr Wilcox, I look forward to talking about the positive transformation of special education in America and of course Kansas basketball with you again some day!

Dr. Wilcox inspired and impacted the lives of many, including mine. Ive always said I would consider myself a successful educator when Ive accomplished a third of what she was able to accomplish in her lifetime. May you rest easy, Daryl. Youll be missed by many, but your legacy will live on!

I remember so many things when I was teaching at Wayne State College. I remember asking her why the school for children with disabilities was called the Tower School. She said to me, "It is right next to the water tower." We shared many days together preparing for new semesters. Daryl, Frank Adams and I had a lot of lunches together. I will miss her. She was a very good friend.
