Darlene Geboe Obituary

Darlene Ann Geboe, nee Olmstead, joined the love of her life Charles Gordon Geboe (Redlightning Family Unit, Yankton Sioux Tribe) in the Spirit World on October 8, 2023 in Rapid City, South Dakota. She also joins her Olmstead brothers Norman, Marvin, Vernon, Eddie, Dennis and her son Matthew Geboe. We keep her in our thoughts and hold memories of her love and contributions to friends and family. er surviving children CG, Ben and Jet and extended family and grand children. Mom graduated from the Rapid City St. John's McNamara School of Nursing in 1962 and led a successful career as Head Nurse at the IHS Rosebud Sioux Tribe hospital, working also in Lawrence, Kansas and Northern Virginia. An avid quilter and lover of smoking and garage sales she had many nursing and quilter friends. She loved both her Norwegian farmer heritage and Native American Family. A true South Dakotan, loyal and truthful she nutured friends and family, sought peace in strife, was deeply generous and worked tirelessly to help support friends and family in need. Special thank you to Jet Geboe and Eliane Cermak who supported mom for many years. Also thanks to caregivers at Adventera North on Texas and N 7th in Rapid and the Palliative Care Team helping us all. Services are planned for Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the Minneluzahan Senior Center, 315 N 4th St
