Danny Stice Obituary

Celebration of Life Services for Danny Alan Stice, 63, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m., September 13, 2021 at River City Church in Lawrence. The family will greet friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Please come casually dressed in your favorite Royals, Chiefs, KU Jayhawks or NASCAR attire. A private family inurnment will be held later at Memorial Park Cemetery. Danny passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home after a long hard-fought battle with cancer on August 29th.

Danny was born on February 16, 1958, in Denver, Colorado the son of Darrell & Gerry Stice.

For over 26 years, Danny enjoyed many long trips as an over the road truck driver. Danny began working for the Lawrence Public School District in 2009 and continued to work daily in the Facilities & Operations Department as their heavy equipment operator until his death.

He married the love of his life and best friend, Tina Lemon on April 8, 2006, in Lawrence, KS.

Survivors include Tina Stice of the home, as well as his mother Gerry Stice, Lawrence. He had one daughter Shelby Pringle (Jared) and gained two more daughters, Michelle Read (James) and Jennifer Benschoter (Marco) with his marriage to Tina. He has four grandchildren, Marshawn, Hudson, James, Everly and one on the way. Sisters Lisa Stice & Jamie Cole, Lawrence, Niki Probst (Ron), Wyoming, father-in-law Robert Lemon (Jeanie), mother-in-law Judy Gragg (Dick), along with many nieces & nephews, and Dixie, the very spoiled kitty.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Stice in January 2021.

Memorial contributions may be made in Danny's name to Lawrence Humane Society or Visiting Nurses and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
