Very sorry to hear of this loss. Dr. Ashlock taught my first semester of calculus at Iowa State University. He was an amazing teacher and, honestly, I doubt I'd have made it through engineering if not for the start he gave me in math.

I am just realizing that Dan is no longer with us. He partnered with me on a superpermutation paper in 1993 which I still field questions about to this day. He was one of the few mathematicians that have every taken me seriously on that problem - although it took a minute for him to realize it. It's a lovely story which I tell often. I'm so bummed that he's gone.

Daniel was an acquaintance of mine from Lawrence High School. Daniel had a tremendous sense of humor and a very high level of intelligence. I did not know Daniel well, yet we were acquainted through subscription drives for The Lawrence Journal World. Rest in Peace Daniel!

Dan was a great childhood friend. I can still recall some of the goofy conversations we had. It has been many years since we last saw each other, but I was still shocked and saddened to learn of his passing.

I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He worked at Audio House with my husband and I in the late 1980's. I remember him fondly. May the family be comforted by the fact that he is with his saviour.
