Clara Stalcup Obituary

Clara Marie (Ward) Stalcup, 90, passed from this life July 6, 2025.

Clara was born May 19, 1935 at Bethany Hospital, Kansas City, KS. She was the daughter of Calvin Sidney and Lorene Ann (Masters) Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David Stalcup, her sisters Phyllis Elaine Mayhugh and Shirley A. Dort, daughter, Ruth Elaine Beggs.

Survivors include David Brian Stalcup and wife Yelennys, Douglas Alan Stalcup and wife Janet, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Clara graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1953 and Kansas City Kansas Community College in May of 1981, Magna Cum Laude. The family attended Grandview Baptist Church then moved west and attended Immanuel Baptist Church. David and Clara performed various duties at church. When Clara retired from Harcross Chemical in 1998, they moved to McLouth, KS. Then in 2005 to Fall Creek Villas in Tonganoxie, KS. At the time of her death, she was a member at Cornerstone Family Worship in Tonganoxie. She had a lifelong concern for the homeless & hungry and volunteered at the Good Shepherd Thrift Store in Tonganoxie.

In lieu of flowers Clara suggests memorial donations to, Cornerstone Family Worship, or the Good Shepherd Thrift Store & Food Bank.
