Chuck Packard Obituary

Chucky Packard age 53 lifelong resident of Bonner Springs, KS., went home to be with his Mom and Dad on June 1, 2012 while at the Starting line at Heartland Park Race Track in Topeka, KS. Funeral Services were at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 6th at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening also at the funeral home.

Chuck was born on Oct. 8, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Bonner Springs High School and went on to work at National Cold Storage where he had worked for over 30 years. His true passion in life was drag racing his 1968 Camaro at the local drag strips. He was preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Helen Packard. Survivors include his 3 sisters Elaine Bundy of Basehor, KS., Marilyn Murray of Bonner Springs, Norma (Paul) Courtney of Tonganoxie, KS., 2 brothers Dale (Brenda) Packard of Bonner Springs, Jimmy Packard of Tonganoxie, KS. and several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Chucky is one of those guys that would consider to be a life long friend, even though we havent talked that much for several years, he is one of those guys that when you did see him and talk to him, it was like yesterday was the last time you talked to him. He was a good man. I was sad to hear he went, but he went out doing what he loved.

We hadn't seen Chuck in awhile but you can bet he always had a smile on his face and always said hello when we did see him. What a wonderful guy. We have lost 3 brothers & a sister and we can honestly say that we know how you feel. You have a gurdian angel now to watch over you. Don't be afraid to call on him when you need him. Talk to him. He'll be there. Bless your family and our prayers are with you.
