I worked at Radio Registry which was a company used to book established Musicians such as Chuck Loeb for work at Studio Sessions, Broadway Plays, TV Commercials and Television shows for music Contractors like Emile Charlap, Sandy De Crescent and Sanford Allen to name a few.
It was always a pleasure to speak with him as I learned a lot more about the Industry.

I only knew him from his music on WJZZ FM in Detroit, Michigan while living there and working at General Motors Corp during the 1980s and 90s before I retired in 2002. His music was AWESOME and still is!

As I reflect on the music that I have listened to throughout my many years, Chuck Loeb always jumps to the front of the list. Chuck's music was always crisp, clean and an engineering / musical masterpiece.
It was, and still is easy to hear that Chuck loved to play the guitar and mastered his instrument. It is a true pleasure to listen to his music and he will live on forever. Groove on in heaven Chuck!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Chuck @ Soiled Dove Underground Denver like 2010-11?? with Eric Marienthal and Earl Klugh... he seen the sheer excitement in my face and said "Thanks for coming"...I said "Ya" Forever Remembered as one of my top 5 FAVE Smooth Jazz guitARTISTS

I feel his joy when he plays. Thank god the music is eternal. Someone called him the Clark Kent of electric guitar. He played like Superman. Certainly a life cut short. I’m listening to Him accompany Carmen as I write this. RIP Chuck. Much love to the family.

Gosh, I am behind the times...I didn't know this great jazz artist had left us! I was late on Jeff Golub also. My condolences to these wonderful performers!

I have been a guitarist since I was 13 . I heard his work and purchased every recording he was involved with. I saw him live in my hometown of Minneapolis. He was gifted and had a great sense of humor . I was very sad today to find he had passed away . It appears that he was also a tremendous family man . No surprise to me . What a class act . As a fellow 1974 Nyack High school alumni, I began folllowing Chuck in the mid 1990's as my interest in smooth jazz expanded. I had the privilige to see him in concert in 1998 or 1999 in St.Petersburg, Florida. His mastery of the guitar was amazing, as well as his pompositional skills.

MY PREFERRED INSTRUMENT IN JAZZ WAS THE SAX AND PIANO, UNTIL I HEARD CHUCK LOEB, SO FROM THIS MOMENT ON THE GUITAR SCALATES TO THE FIRST PLACE BECAUSE OF THIS MARVELOUS MUSICIAN, I HAVE ALMOST ALL OF HIS CD'S , R.I.P. CHUCK, I HOPE TO MEET YOU IN THE FOURTH DIMENSION.

It is one of a very few, significant 'traveling songs' that have marked transitional moments in my life, and I can not help but smile, and now cry, when I hear it again. I met Chuck Loeb when he came to play at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz in South Africa. He was brought by the promoter for an interview on my radio show. He was humble, engaging, unassuming and generally very kind hearted. It was his first trip here. He was blown away to learn he was my favorite guitarist. From Steps Ahead to Fourplay and all his solo recordings in between. I loved him. I loved feeling his soul through his guitar. May his soul Rest In Peace. He was appreciated. Thoroughly! Happy birthday for December 7.

Chuck Loeb will truly be missed. I had the pleasure of hearing & seeing him in Pittsburgh at the Manchester Craftmen's Guild with Fourplay! One of the best entertaining concert that I've had the pleasure to see. He is truly a favorite of mines and I will dearly miss his music to my ears!

I am from Brazil, and I have just read bout Chuck Loeb death. I have several songs of Chuck Loeb in my playlists and I will always remember him. I am sure he is playing great jam sessions with the angels.

I still haven't got over recent passing of one of my favourite guitarist Jeff Golub when I heard on a smooth jazz station few days ago, referring to Chuck as the late and I thought I must have misheard her. To my disbelief I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn it was true. RIP my inspirational guitarists. You will be sorely missed.

I first saw Chuck Loeb with Bob James at a concert in Camden Town, London called Jongleurs. Chuck was Bobs guest. It was a small venue and I was standing only five yards from the stage. This must have been in about 1998?? maybe? The set was incredible and I've been a Chuck Loeb fan ever since. So so shocked to hear of his passing. He was an all time great of mine and i was delighted when he finally joined Fourplay.........his natural musical home I thought at the time. Bob james obviously regarded him as one of the very best and so did I.

I just saw the message today and didn't know that chuck Loeb had passed months ago what a great musician with a phenomenal sound he's going to be truly missed.

Just got word of his passing... what a talent. I have tremendous respect for the hard work that goes into playing guitar at Chuck's level. He was too young to leave us. God blessed us with Chuck's music, so let us now pray for his family during this sad time.

I never had the distinct honor of meeting Chuck, but I felt like I new him through his music. It was so soulful that it touched you and you became one with him. I was watching a live video of Fourplay just now, in the half I want to watch some comments of this video, then I realized Chuck has gone, I can't believe my eyes. Chuck is always my favorite Jazz guitarist, I love his beautiful melody phrases, I learned his licks. In 2015 I joined Chuck's online Jazz guitar course, I remember everything he said about my playing, he's so nice. RIP Chuck, I will keep playing guitar, I wish I can play the way you did. I love you.

So many great songs that conjure up so many emotions... joy, freedom, reflection (listening to Magic Fingers whilst writing this).

Looking up at who was playing the guitar for Fourplay instead of Lee Ritenour I got to know of the passing of this gentleman. Yes, I never met him, only had seen him in the latter Fourplay concerts and was amazed at the mastery this musician had. A great loss indeed, not only for the fans, but mainly for his immediate family. May he rest in peace.

I have no words for the immense loss I feel after just learning of Chuck's death. I've been out of circulation for over a month in self-imposed exile from the internet, hence the news came as a shock.

I have enjoyed Chuck and his incredible music from as far back as his first amazing musical adventures with his band, with Fourplay and with others. My wife and I were planning to see Fourplay on one of their upcoming concert tours. Alas, we can now only keep listening and enjoying various recordings.

Thank you so very much, Chuck, for innumerable wonderful moments we've enjoyed listening to your music - no, your magic. You are sorely missed.

Though you may be gone, your music continues to give me untold joy and pleasure.

So sad to hear of Chuck's passing... I remember him from the Nyack/Rockland County days. We played the occasional gig together, and he had the ability to raise the level of musicianship of everyone on the stand.

So glad that he went on to greater things, and so glad that his music and legacy live on.
