Charlotte Neese Obituary

Charlotte Lee Neese, born on January 5, 1935 in Coffeyville, KS, passed away on November 3, 2021 at the age of 86. Charlotte lived most of her life in the Lawrence, KS area.

Charlotte retired from AT&T after 30 years of dedicated service. Charlotte's true passion was art. Following her retirement she taught private oil painting lessons for over 20 years to aspiring artists and occasionally her grandchildren.

Charlotte had a passion for life and participated in many activities including several painting groups, church choir, senior fitness, and bridge groups. She loved to travel and loved her family. She could often be heard bragging about her children and grandchildren's accomplishments.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Clarence W. Neese; her mother, Thelma (Norris) Neese; her son, Michael Landers; her brother, Clarence "Butch" Neese; and her sister, Betty Jo Sandon.

Not a sweeter woman than Charlotte. We were neighbors at Candletree Condos for several years. I enjoyed her eclectic ways and unique paintings. I never heard her say a negative thing about anyone anytime. She was quite the woman.

Jerry and Darren, sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I've known her since the 21st street days and we had lots of fun times in Parents Without Partners. She sure was a good artist and I have one of her paintings on my wall. We had remained friends all these years and she will be truly missed.

Sending Charlotte's family much love from the staff at the Senior Resource Center. She was a favorite and hearing of her passing hit many of us quite hard. We loved having her as part of the Tuesday Painters and several of her animal paintings will be cherished just a bit more as she will be dearly missed. Peace and love to her family.
