Charles Haines Obituary

Charles W. Haines, 92, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Sunday April 24, 2022 at the Legends Healthcare, Tonganoxie.

Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday April 30, 2022 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church 204 E Washington Street, Tonganoxie. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday evening at the Quisenberry Funeral Home 604 E 4th Street, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Charles was born December 12, 1929 in Ackerland, KS, the son of Walter and Bessie Elizabeth Haines. He was a farmer and worked many other jobs along side of farming over the years. He retired from Kmart Distribution Center, Lawrence, KS. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Tonganoxie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Wilma Mae (Jackson) Haines; seven sisters, Bernice, Sadie, Claire, Ruth, Waltena, Myrtle, Elizabeth; and his brother Walter.

Survivors include; three sons, Charles H. Haines, Lawrence, Steven W. Haines, Lawrence, Bryan D. Haines, Tonganoxie; three daughters, Charlene A. Haines, Wilma Dian Haines, Viola Marie Stevens, all of Lawrence, KS; nine grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial donations in his name to Legends Healthcare, Tonganoxie; or the Monterey Village Senior Living, Lawrence, KS.
