Charla Jenkins Obituary

The Celebration of Life Service for CHARLA JENKINS will take place on September 15, 2018, 4:00 p.m., in Crafton Preyer Theater, Murphy Hall, on the KU campus.

Charla was the beloved daughter of Bud & Christine Jenkins (deceased) of Emporia, KS, and sister of Raye Street of Wichita, KS, a niece, Dana Setter, and two nephews, Cody (Laurie) & John (Sherri) Street, 10 great-nieces/nephews and 13 great-great nieces & nephews, favorite cousin, Jackie Parsons (Steve) of San Diego and her daughters, Jenny & Lindsey. Charla was predeceased by cousins, Larry Bonczkowski, Marge King, Chris Bonczkowski & Steve Bonczkowski. Surviving cousins are Tyce Smith, Lorena Carlson, David Bonczkowski, Paul Bonczkowski & Lee Bonczkowski.

Her longtime caregivers, Candy & Felicia Patterson, also mourn her death.

A gathering after the service will be held at the Harbour Lights, 1031 Massachusetts St, Lawrence.

Charla will be remembered for her love of theater students, colleagues, and KU basketball.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the University Theatre in care of KU Endowment, kuendowment.org OR the Lawrence Humane Society at lawrencehumane.org and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
