I was so sad to hear of your mom's passing. I have so many fond memories of time spent at your house. She was almost like my second mom during my time in BHS. I think of you all daily.
With deepest sympathy,

I had the honor of meeting Jane later in her life. The first time we met I thought, "What a beautiful, graceful lady." Not only did she have physical beauty, but a beautiful mind as well. What accomplishments she made both in her professional and personal life.

Susan and family, I am awed by your mother's accomplishments (and her beauty). She sounds like an amazing mom and a career woman who was ahead of her time. Please know that all of us at Unity are holding your family in our prayers!

I never met her, but her youngest son, Kip was a classmate of mine, and I have since become friends with John. Knowing both of them tells me everything I need to know that this was one great Human being. The story speaks of a Strong Woman who led a very Strong life.

What a great neighborhood MOM. Jane kept an eye on our whole neighorhood. Playing with Nancy and Dean in the Richard's backyard is a special memory with Jane supply the cookies... Thinking of a very special MOM... Dirk Wedd Lawrence Ks

Tutt and Jane gave me my first job at the Baldwin Ledger after I graduated from Baker in 1965. They were just crazy-fun to work with, and I will always remember their warmth and generosity. Extraordinary people, beautiful family. I am very sorry for your loss.

I always admired Jane for afar as a college and graduate student. Her extraordinary life is surely borne out in the legacy of her remarkable children. The Doty family extends our love and sympathy to all of the Richards family.

Jane was a rare gift to this world. She knew how to love her children well. Hers was a rich accomplished life; she could address any subject with wisdom and mirth in the midst of heavy professional demands while raising her family. We all feel this loss and remember Jane with grace, great talks, an expansive, wise mind. I learned so much from her: from fabric to photography, from family life to mothering. I am thankful for her selflessness, remembering her as she drove Susan and me to school every warm, cold or freezing morning! Our sorrow is mixed with a joyful celebration. Wonderful times to remember beloved Jane and her beautiful strong legacy, her gifted remarkable children. Mother Merciel, Mark and David and their families join me in our expression of sympathy and profound celebration.
