Carolyn Wiley Obituary

Carolyn Ray Wiley, 82, loving mother of two boys, grandmother of two girls, neighbor and friend, was born March 4, 1939, in Neodesha, Kansas and passed peacefully October 27, 2021, in Lawrence, Kansas.

After graduating from Neodesha High School, Carolyn attended the University of Kansas where she studied the Spanish language. She later worked for many years as Clerk-Secretary for the KU Civil Engineering Department.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Paul Wiley and Zoa Beth Taylor of Neodesha, Kansas. She is survived by her son Eric Davis of Seville, Spain, and by son Kurt Davis and his children Cecile Davis and Eleanor Davis of Lawrence, Kansas.

Carolyn was a kind and gentle person, loved by all. She was an active member of the congregation of the Mustard Seed Church. She was healthy and active until a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease during her final years.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, Kansas. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 1605 Oak Hill Avenue, Lawrence, Kansas.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any donations be offered to the Lawrence Humane Society in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 West 13th Street, Lawrence, Kansas. Carolyn loved her pets, including both dogs and cats but especially her dachshund, Moe.

The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to Star Living Nursing Home and Interim Hospice for making Carolyn's final journey home restful.
