Carol Jeffries Obituary

No services are planned for Carol Catherine Jeffries, who died unexpectedly on April 22, 2022, at her home.

She was born December 25, 1942 in Parsons, KS, the daughter of Lawrence and Catherine Warren. She attended grade school and high school in Parsons and graduated from McCune Rural High School in 1960. She attended Emporia State University and the University of Kansas. She lived several years in Newport, RI and Emporia, KS, moving to Lawrence in September 1972.

She was employed by the Kroger Family Center, both in Emporia and Lawrence, and from 1977 to 2014 by Watson Library at the University of Kansas. She was a member of The Kansas Honey Producers, Golden Plains Llama Assoc., The Harley Owners Group, The Ladies of Harley, The Nature Conservancy, and the First Presbyterian Church of Emporia.

She married Ronald J. Jeffries on Nov. 1, 1973; he survives of the home. She was preceded in death by a son, Loren Zuck Jr. who died in 1998. Other survivors include a daughter, Lori Zuck, Lawrence, two stepsons, Doug Jeffries and Jason Jeffries of Omaha, a sister Terri Warren, Kansas City, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to Literacy Program, Visiting Nurses, Link program, or Community Shelter.
