Carmen Fuller Obituary

Carmen Quinley Fuller, age 80, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones in her Loxley, AL, home. She was born in Bay Minette, AL, to Wilburn and Voncile Quinley and was the oldest of their nine children. Carmen was the Plant Manager for Manor Corporation for over 30 years. She later opened a home-based monogramming business, Carmen and Me. She was fierce, loyal, independent and "Quinley Tough." Carmen's life was full. She loved her church, gardening, cooking and everything related to sewing, but more than anything she loved her family. Her door was always open and everyone who visited felt at home and left with lots of "advice." She is survived by her three children – Pamela F. Guess, Cross Roads, AL; Lynn F. Ryan, Daphne, AL; and Aundrea D. Fuller, Birmingham, AL; two grandchildren – Amanda G. D'Oliveira (Fran) and Cole F. Ryan (Sarah); great grandson, Sergey M. D'Oliveira; three brothers - Warren Quinley (Dorothy), Reverend Luther Quinley (Rachel), Steve Quinley (Sharon); four sisters - Jewell Aaron (Stephen), Katherine Breeden (Danny), Mary Alice Little (Johnny), Rebecca Jeffers (Tommy) and a host of nieces and nephews. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald J. Fuller; her parents, Wilburn and Voncile Quinley; and her sister, Juliette Q. Whatley. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Loxley Church of God. A memorial service will follow, Pastor Brian Wade officiating. The Fuller Family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at the Mitchell Cancer Institute in Mobile, AL, and especially for the care provided by Dr. Marcus Tan and Dr. Moh'd Khushman. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made to the Loxley Church of God, Carmen Fuller Memorial – 5220 S. Hickory Street, PO Box 499, Loxley, AL 36551. Proceeds will be used for the Hope House Mission. This mission supports the operations of an orphanage in Honduras where a dormitory was built in memory of Carmen's parents. Carmen will be greatly missed.

I just became aware of Carmen's passing. What a beautiful soul and her kindness was evident in every word. I only knew her from phone conversations but I can see that her smile is as lovely as she was.

May God bless you with many wonderful memories,

I hardly know where to begin of the love I feel for Carmen. We became very good friends beginning in 1957 working together. We formed a friendship like no other I have ever had. Over the years we grew apart, raising our children and jobs going in different directions, but when we did see each other, it was like we just picked up where we left off in our friendship. May God give each of your family peace in their hearts and know she is singing with the angels now. Love to each of you.

Carman Fuller was one of the most incredible women I ever met on this earth. I loved her dearly. Her and Jack were family and I thank my Father in heaven for their influence in my life. I can't wait to see both of you especially when you take me on a tour of heaven.

I have such fond memories growing up and spending much time at the Fuller house. Ms. Fuller was always that domestic stability in her home that young ladies dream to be. My thoughts are with the family during this time. Thinkinking of you all. May you find peace in the life time memories you shared.

Carmen was one of a kind. She will be missed greatly but we will see her before long in all her beauty. We may be missing her but she is having a great time with all those gone on before. Love you Carmen!

When we came home because my Dad was dying of cancer I was only 3. I thought she was the most beautiful person I had ever seen and she was always so sweet to me. I didn't spend time with her but I always loved and admired her. I've planted a seed in my heart for her right next to Juliette and Uncle Wilburn and Aunt Voncile who raised me for a few months when i was younger.
