I am honored and blessed to have known Cal.
Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed and I will never forget Cal's kindness. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts, and as so they live on while we gain an angel in heaven to watch over us. Heaven will be so much more livelier with the presence of this Family loving fun guy. May the caring and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. May eternal rest be granted unto him O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him always. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed forever rest in peace. Amen.

The first time I met Cal was at Caitlin and Grants wedding. I thought he was so funny and a delight to talk to that we talked throughout the whole wedding off and on. I send prayers of love and healing to Grant, his Mom, Brother and Family.

Our hearts go out to Mary and family as well as to Brian. May God bring peace to your hearts, and an abundance of beautiful memories to mind. I remember well time spent on the Doerksen farm as we were growing up, and family reunions in Inman. Those are times I will treasure.

My husband and I are very sorry for your loss. I keep remembering Grant and Caitlin's wedding and how Cal and Mary were with all of their children, their spouses, and grandchildren - The love and pride that Cal had for each of you was evident. A reminder of how fragile life and time truly is. I often take comfort in the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Cal will be a part of each of you for years to come as you share his story with your children and grandchildren.

To the family of Calvin Doerksen,
I attended High School with Calvin. Remember him as a quiet (at times) guy but always a smile.
I am sorry for your loss and will be praying for all of you.
I am sure the support of family and friends will help you as you transition through this time.

To Mary, Jake, Bridget, and Grant
So sorry to learn of Calvin's death and for your loss.
Although we had recently lost contact with you, I drove by our old neighborhood in OP about a month ago and it brought back memories of your Dad and family including Doerksen reunions years ago and Buhler connections.
May you find peace and comfort in knowing you are thought of at this time.

I am sorry to hear of Cal's passing. I remember my time with Cal fondly. He was a great friend. I appreciated his time as my Assistant Fire Chief. Decisions he made for Inman Fire Department have been a benefit even to this day. Our prayers and thoughts will be with Mary and the family.

Cal was a good friend. He had the most impeccable integrity. He also had some great stories from the Navy and contracting. I will miss my friend.

I'm so sorry about Cal. Mary, his kids and grandkids are in my prayers, as are all who love him. I have such fond memories of visiting Uncle Mart and Aunt Bert's place, where Calvin and Brian put up with us younger cousins with patience and kindness. Family reunions in Inman were the best of times, and they'll be forever in our hearts. Rest in peace, Cal.

Cal was a wise and loving father, and I was very lucky to have known him and been able to be made a better person by knowing him. I will always remember our talks over the years and how his love of his children was always present. I will always remember him when I see his son Jake who has the best parts of his father, and I am proud to call my best friend.

I remember my cousin, Calvin, as a kind and friendly person. While growing up he was one of my favorite playmates when we lived in and later visited family in Kansas. As with many cousins, we lost touch with each other over the years; however, his passing still brings me much sadness and I shall always remember the wonderful times we had together growing up. My thoughts tonight are of the many family reunions I attended in Inman, Kansas with our grandparents and all the many aunts, uncles, and cousins. We all had fun and Calvin was always in the middle of the fun filled activities.

As a youngster, I had the joy of spending time on the Doerksen family farm with cousins Calvin and Brian on numerous occasions. I am thankful for that time and their hospitality. Those were the best of times.
Our sincere condolences to all the family members.

While I didn't know Cal as a adult, I have vivid and fond memories of playing with him, his little brother, Brian, and my brother, Ken Doerksen, at our grandparents farm in Inman. At that time I thought Cal was smart, serious, curious and fun. We would run every where we could and jump from the barn window into piles of hay. Of course we weren't suppose to do that. Cal was worried we would get into trouble but in the end that didn't stop us. May God bless his family now in the days to come. Most sincerely, Wanda Lee Doerksen Keating
