Calvin Boylan Obituary
Calvin, 55, passed away Thursday morning July 31, 2014 at his home with family and close friends after a 4 year battle with metastatic cancer.
Calvin was born June 13, 1959 in Chisholm, MN and moved to Lawrence in the 1960's and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1977.
He worked at The Playhouse for 12 years and Allen Press from 1989-2011 until his cancer prevented him from working.
Calvin was a great friend to many! He was an avid outdoors person. He enjoyed team-roping; winning many saddles, buckles, and tack. Fishing trips to the Boundary Waters, hunting trips, trail riding, was on a bowling league for many years, and just having a good time with family and friends.
He is survived by five sisters: Sharon Rayton (husband Billy), Karla Boylan, Lynne Boylan, Pamela Kendrick, and Darla Rawley. He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia (Stotser) Boylan, his father Ralph Boylan and stepmother Emma Jean, as well as grandparents on both sides.
The family suggests memorials to Kansas University Cancer Center.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday Aug 8th at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. There will be Celebration of Life party at his house Saturday Aug 9th at 12:30 p.m.
