Brendon Glad Obituary

Brendon Eliott Glad was born July 15, 1971, in Atwood, Kansas, the youngest child of Albert Eliott and Susan (Henneberger) Glad. He died March 30, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas, after complications from a short, but difficult battle with influenza and pneumonia.

Brendon attended Atwood Grade School and Atwood High School, Class of 1990. He had a great childhood, growing up in Atwood and doing the things boys do-spending most of his days with his cousin and best friend, Jeff Glad.

Brendon loved sports and participated in many. In high school he was on the 1989 state champion football team, where he was quarterback. He was an excellent basketball player and loved the sport, excelling in high school and later playing at Bethany College in Lindsborg. He also played baseball as a walk-on at Bethany toward the end of his time there.

Upon graduation from college, Brendon taught English for two years at Eisenhower Middle School in Liberal, Kansas. He then moved to Lawrence and was part of the band, Q. During that time, he worked at Holiday Inn waiting tables, and there he met many lifelong friends. He also ran a film production company for a time and completed several movies and documentaries. Upon the death of his parents, Brendon became a long-distance partner with his sister in the family farming and ranching operation.

Brendon grew up in and was a member of the Atwood United Methodist Church, but it was only in his later years that he became a devoted Christian. He lived and practiced his faith, caring for others generously. He also loved and protected all animals, especially his cats.

Brendon had a quirky, but loveable, personality. Those who knew him couldn't help but be endeared to his silly antics, sounds, songs, and crazy stories. He liked to laugh and he could make people laugh right along with him in every situation.

Brendon was preceded in death by his parents in 2001, and his brother-in-law Ken Moses, who passed just two weeks before him. He is survived by his sister, Michelle Moses and nieces Avery, Ainsley, and Ayla of Atwood, his special and cherished Alina, lovingly referred to as "Leppy," of Rumania, and his honorary nieces and nephews, Taylor, Seth, Gabe, Jocelyn, Caden, and Eden Gilbert.

The funeral service is at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Atwood United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Atwood. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence Humane Society or Atwood Second Century and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
