Bill Furman Obituary

Funeral for Bill W. Furman, 76, De Soto, will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, July 31, at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto. Burial will follow at De Soto Cemetery.

He passed away Friday, July 27, 2012.

He was born March 21, 1936, in Omaha, Neb.

He married JoAnn Busse, Jan. 1, 1955. Bill worked for a paint manufacturer, a laborer for the #1290 Union, and a custodian for KU in Lawrence.

Survivors include Wife JoAnn of the home, Daughter Rosie (Bruce) Newman of Lawrence. Grandchildren Kevin Newman, Lyndie Dean, Amie Jo Hessling. Daughter Sherri Quick of Eudora. Grandchildren Hayley Shields, Sarah Karashin. Great grandchildren Peyton, Lilly, Keaton, Spencer, Kyle, Mackenzie and Ashlie.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Monday, July 30, at the Chapel.

The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society.
