Anyone who has been a part of a school knows that the principal's administrative assistant is the one who runs the school. That was Betty at Prairie Middle School. As principal of Prairie, Betty was the person who I could depend on - to make sure the school ran smoothly and safely for all staff and students. And she did. I could always depend on her to be honest and straight forward with me. On many occasions, she would say to me, 'Why would you do that?' And, I would stop and think, 'Yeah, why am I making that decision?' Even with 1600 students and 120 staff members, she knew each staff member personally. She was the person who the staff came to with concerns - both personal celebrations and issues - and professional needs.. Over the five years I had the privilege of working with Betty, she became not only someone whom I depended on - but also a special friend.

Betty had the most beautiful spirit and would make you feel at home the moment you walked into the building. I started my teaching career at Prairie and I always remember how welcome she made me feel and how, no matter the day's events, she could put a smile on your face. She will be greatly missed. The world needs more of Betty's kindness and generosity. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Peace be with you all.

Betty had the kindest spirit of anyone I've ever known besides my own Aunt Betty. She never had a negative word to say about anyone. I know she was deeply loved by our entire Prairie staff. She will be missed terribly. Our thoughts and prayers our with your family in this time of grief.

I've never met someone like Betty who was like an Aunt Bea to an entire school. She was non-judgmental and kind. She was the glue that held so many things together. At Prairie Middle School we all owed her a debt we could not repay for being a friend to us all. She made a difference and I will miss her. Rest in Peace Betty.
My condolences and prayers to your family.
