I became friends with Barry in the late '70s.
We had some great adventures in Palm Springs and NYC. I still have Barry's work in my home.
He was a whole person with a good soul. He was so proud of his Dad's mentoring Billy Mills and his own identity. He was a good soldier, a boon companion and a keen observer of the human condition. Salute!

I just heard of Barry's passing.. Barry and I used to be guests every year for March madness at Steve Miller's home. I learned a lot of great things from Barry and have one of his sculptures which goes with me everywhere. So sorry to hear.. You are missed Barry..!

Sorry to hear of the passing of this talented and generous man! But remember fondly the great friendship that our mother's, Lolly and Irene, shared back in Lawrence KS. Proud to have been able to share with Barry the fruits of that relationship......

Oh, Barry, and your dear family. Growing up, my family lived on Barker Street. I remember You playing with my older bothers in the yard. Walking to Cordley School was such a long journey (it seemed.) I always admired you and your work. We go to NM & AZ in the winter, so I just found out about you. Rich still is the hunter of the family. My thoughts are with your family. God bless them all.

My Dad, Ed Fitzsimmons, ran the printshop at Haskell in 1950-1952, and I remembered two little boys, "I Doug" and "I Barry" Coffin. We lived at 108 Barker, in half of a two story duplex, and Butch Reynolds was the kid on the other half of the house. Very sorry to read that Barry has died, R.I.P.

Dear Tom and Lynn, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother Barry. I new him back in the day and was such a nice guy. It's so hard to lose a brother. I have been to the casino and have really enjoyed looking at his art work there. The world will remember him through his art which is very peaceful. I'm sure he's enjoying doing his art work right now with new ideas and the grace of God. Peace be with both of you and also your brother Doug.
