Arthur Hancock Obituary

Funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday March 15, 2022 at the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening from 6-8pm. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie. KU attire is preferred.

Art was born June 4, 1941 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Arthur and Harriett (Johnson) Hancock. He worked many jobs around Tonganoxie in his youth including Zoellners, Bills Hy-Klas and Cities Services. He was a 1958 Graduate of Tonganoxie High School. He was a founding member of the Tonganoxie USD #464 Education Foundation; He served on the Tonganoxie City Council; He was past president of the Tonganoxie Chamber of Commerce; and was a businessman in Tonganoxie for over 40 years. His last job was the Vice President of Public Relations for Community National Bank.

Survivors include; one son, Sean (Amy) Hancock, Tonganoxie; three daughters, Lynley (David) Cordell, Tonganoxie, Lori (Matt) Vicory, Tonganoxie, Stephanie White, Shawnee, KS; three step-daughters, Lori (Les) Rains, Kansas City, KS, Leann Kuebelbeck, Lithia, FL, Heidi (Tammy) Tomlins, St. Petersburg, FL; one brother, Quentin (Jan) Hancock, Tonganoxie; one sister, Phyllis (Dick) Jansen, Austin, TX; cousin Charlie (Diane) Mitts, Olathe, KS; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in his name are suggested to the Tonganoxie USD #464 Education Foundation, or the THS Alumni Association.
