Arloene Simmons Obituary
She was born November 3, 1922 in Lecompton, KS the daughter of Albert and Anna (Stuck) DeKat. Arlie was a graduate of Lecompton Rural High School.
She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and a life member of the Lecompton Historical Society.
Arlie married George Simmons on January 24, 1942 in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death February 1, 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Rita (Robert) Mock of Fulton, MO, Georgia Trammel of Lecompton, six grandchildren, Stephanie Thomas, Jeff (Jenny) Bird, Sherie (Matt) Willis, Matt (Tracey) Bird, Eddie (Gina) Teets, Kelly (Chris) Houck along with numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son Stanley Simmons, a son-in-law, Johnnie Trammel, a grandson-in-law, Tom Thomas, her siblings, Ann Theresa DeKat who died in infancy, Romanus Cornelius DeKat and Lavina Rose Hanna.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry, Ks. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Big Springs.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church or St. Peter's Cemetery, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.

Rita & Georgia, I just heard about your Mom's passing today. I'm so sorry to hear that, but I know she's in a better place & will get to see Stanley again after all these years. She was such a nice lady & I always enjoyed seeing her & visiting with her each year at the Big Springs cemetery Memorial Day Mass.

Georgia and Rita, I know you will miss your mother. She had a long, loving life. One of my special memories was her hosting a sleep-over party when we were in high school. She was so nice and welcoming to us teenagers. Throughout the years, she greeted me at every event we shared. She made me feel a special connection with her family. My thoughts are with all of you.
