Joe was earnest, and had authority on many areas of expertise. You would take his word on almost any subject. A conversation with him didn't have to be lengthy to be meaningful. I admit, even if I caught him on his way out, I just felt better. He walked tall and spoke plainly, and even though I missed him after moving from Lawrence, I'll miss him still. Semper Fi.

Joe was one of the most incredible people I have ever met. It was my privilige to know him, even if it was for such a short period of time.
