Antholene Meeks Obituary
Antholene "Sue" English Meeks, age 90, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born on March 6, 1931, to the late Ruth and Posey English of Rocky Mount. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Will Albert Meeks; brothers, Boyd (Dot) English and Archie (Elizabeth) English.
Surviving are sisters-in-law, Martha Sue Meeks of Pinehust, N.C., and Ann Meeks of Martinsville; also are many nieces and nephews whom she lovingly cared for as her own.
She worked at Bassett Walker of Martinsville for 40 years. Sue was a member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church and Sunday School. She loved singing hymns and gospel music and taking short trips. Her loving mom, Ruth was her best friend.
Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, with the Rev Joe Glass officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
A special thanks and appreciation to the caretakers and nurses at Mulberry Creek Assisted Living.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Furnace Creek Baptist Church.
